In addition to providing education for young people, I also provide training for teachers in the following areas:

I provide training and support in the following areas:
Drug and alcohol use in young people
I have spent two and a half years working in schools and colleges, with young people, researching current trends in drug and alcohol use. Consequently, I have an up to date knowledge of what young people are using and why they are using it.
I am able to provide detailed information about new substances, including both short and long term effects, how best to work with young people who use substances and what kind of drug and alcohol education is most effective.
Research summaries
I am affiliated with academic institutions and am able to provide up to date literature reviews on any subject.
For example, I have provided summaries of the research on the effects of energy drink consumption and e-cigarette use in young people, which have fed into PSHE sessions.
Developing resilience
Developing resilience has become increasingly important as more and more young people report that they feel under pressure, are stressed and experience reduced psychological wellbeing.
Resilience is a multifaceted construct best understood within a social-ecological framework, and involves increasing protective factors and reducing risk factors, within the child, family, school and society.
I am able to provide training in ‘whole school’ approaches to developing resilience in young people.
Managing bullying problems
Bullying is common in schools, and can be highly damaging for both perpetrators and victims. However, it is a complex social problem and often difficult to resolve.
My particular area of academic expertise is in the field of bullying, and I have worked closely with both mainstream and special schools to address this issue.
I am able to offer advice, training and support to both teachers and students and have an up to date knowledge on the effectiveness of anti-bullying programmes.
